City Marathon
Sean Reilly, Noel Fitzpatrick, Kevin Reilly and Ciaran
Fitzpatrickwould like to thank all who sponsored them for the Dublin city
marathon. They raised a total of 4,700 euros. This was equally divided between
the oncology unit in Cavan general hospital[2350 euro] and Our Ladys Childrens
hospital, Crumlin[2350 euros].

and supporters a happy Christmas and new year.
Mr Jimmy Reilly RIP
There was great shock and sadness when
the news broke on Sunday morning last of the death of Mr Jimmy Reilly, Bunnoe.
Jimmy was a well known and highly respected member of the community and will be
greatly missed by his family and many friends. A keen farmer Jimmy took great
pride in his work. He was an avid GAA man and played football with his beloved
Drung and was a member of the league winning team of 1958. He continued to be a
great supporter of the Drung club and Cavan county teams up until the time of
his passing. Jimmy also had a great passion for traditional Irish music and
travelled all over to Fleadh ceoils and seisuins. This was marked at his funeral
Mass with some recitals given by his great friend Sean McEntee and friends.
Drung GFC formed a guard of honour at his removal which took place to The Church
of the Immaculate Conception Drung on Tuesday evening last. Jimmy was laid to
rest in Bunnoe cemetery after his funeral Mass on Wednesday morning. Predeceased
by his brother Petie , Jimmy is survived by his wife, Bridie,son Gary, Bunnoe,
brothers, Bennie in Boston, Sean in Philadelphia,nephews, nieces, relatives and
friends to whom sympathy is extended.

nearing completion and it is hoped to back in this weekend. The committee would
ask people to be generous with their church renewal envelopes to aid the
financing of these works. Thanks is extended to people who have made donations

Mrs Ivy Johnson
The death took place last week of Mrs Ivy
Johnson, Lisnageer at Castlemanor Nursing home. Ivy was a highly respected and
popular lady in the community and will be fondly remembered by all who knew. She
was post mistress in Lisnageer post office for many years and treated all her
customers with generousity and respect. Ivy is survived by her daughter Gwen
Crowe, Errigal Cootehill, her son in law Eric, grandchildren, great
grandchildren relatives and many friends. Her funeral service took place in
Ashfield parish church with burial afterwards in adjoining
churchyard.

place in Bunnoe Community centre on this Thursday December 13th at 7-30pm.

Lisboduff NS pupils and teachers host their
annual Christmas concert and party in Bunnoe Community centre on Sunday next

This DVD will evoke a lot of memories for people of
the community and make interesting viewing. On the launch night there will be
music by local artists,
food and bar extension . Admission free and
proceedings will commence at 8-30pm. Copies of dvds will be on sale on the night
at 25 euros.

and new floor is in place, new lighting and emmergency lighting has being
fitted, painting is now taking place and works

Drung GFC and St Finbarrs ladies will
host their annual charity match on St Stephens Day at 2-30pm. Refreshments and
raffle later in the Stray Sod. All proceeds in aid of Drumlin House
Cootehill.
Christmas Masses
Christmas Eve masses in Bunnoe at 7-30pm and
Drung at 9pm. Christmas Day masses in Bunnoe at 10am and Drung at
11-30am.
Drung/Bunnoe churches
People are requested to bring their
church envelopes for 2012 up to date so the can be recorded for 2012.
Acknowledgements for 2011 have been distributed and people who are eligible are
asked to return their tax forms as envelopes are ready for collection in both
churches.

Mrs Ivy Johnson
The death took place last week of Mrs Ivy
Johnson, Lisnageer at Castlemanor Nursing home. Ivy was a highly respected and
popular lady in the community and will be fondly remembered by all who knew. She
was post mistress in Lisnageer post office for many years and treated all her
customers with generousity and respect. Ivy is survived by her daughter Gwen
Crowe, Errigal Cootehill, her son in law Eric, grandchildren, great
grandchildren relatives and many friends. Her funeral service took place in
Ashfield parish church with burial afterwards in adjoining
churchyard.

Lisboduff NS pupils and teachers host their
annual Christmas concert and party in Bunnoe Community centre on Sunday next

The recently launched dvd ‘Bunnoe through the years
2000-2011, is on sale at Bunnoe agri supplies at 25euros. This is a great
momento of several special events in the community and will make a great

St Vincent de Paul
Drung/Bunnoe/Kill/Corick area church gate
collections will be taken up after masses this weekend. In these difficult times
many people are calling on St Vincent de Paul for help. Every donation is vital
and people are asked to be generous.

Bunnoe crackers variety show will take
place from Thursday 7th to Sunday 10th March, Rehearsals will commence in early

The AGM of Cootehill Celtics hurling club
will take place in the dressing rooms at Hugh O Reiily Park on this Thursday
March 13th at 8pm. All parents from Drung, Kill, Cootehill and Drumgoon are

Bunnoe Church renovations
Renovations to Bunnoe church are
progressing well and it is hoped to back in the church very soon. The committee
would ask people to be generous with their church renewal envelopes to aid the
