The death occurred on Sunday last of Mrs Katie Kiely, Lisnageer after a short illness at Cavan General Hospital. A quiet friendly lady , Katie will be greatly missed by all who knew her and her death comes just four months after that of her loving husband James. The death occurred on Monday last of Mrs Ellie McGill, Doohasson, Drung after a long illness bravely borne. Aged 86 Ellie was one of the older members of the community and was highly regarded by all who knew her. She is survived by her husband Tom, sons Paul, Martin, Thomas and Ciaran and daughter Carmel, grandchildren, relatives and friends to whom sympathy is extended. Her removal and funeral Mass took place to The Church of the Immaculate Conception, Drung, with burial afterwards in adjoining cemetery.

There was widespread shock and sadness when the news broke on Wednesday morning last of the sudden death of Teresa Slowey, Dunmurry, which occurred at Cavan General Hospital. Teresa was a popular and highly respected member of the community and her loss will be greatly felt by all who knew her. Predeceased by her husband Peter in 1995, she is survived by her daughters Cathriona Hughes, Donegal; Noleen Tully, Cavan; Claire Gilsenan, Dublin, sons Paul and Ronan, sister Lally in Johannsburg, South Africa , sons in law, daughters in law, grandchildren, sister in law, relatives and friends to whom sympathy is extended. Her removal and Funeral Mass took place to St Marys Church, Bunnoe with burial afterwards in adjoining cemetery.

Mrs Peggy Curran
There was widespread regret at the news of the death of Mrs Peggy Curran, Drumouna, Drung which occurred on Wednesday last peacefully at her residence. Peggy was a native of Ardeda, Laragh and she retained a great love of her native parish, Laragh. A great friend and neighbour Peggy will be greatly missed by all who knew her. She had a great interest in all the activities of the local area but Peggy will particularly remembered for her dedication to the Church of the Immaculate Conception, Drung where she worked diligently as sacristan for many years. It was a fitting tribute that she was presented with a Benemerenti medal last October in recognition of this great work. Predeceased by her husband Matt, she is survived by her sons JohnJoe, Pauric, Fintan, Matthew, Micheal and Shane, her daughters Attracta ,Grainne, Mary, Sinead and Orla, her sisters Susan and Maura, sons in law, daughters in law, grandchildren and great grandchildren, brothers in law, sisters in law, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends to whom sympathy is extended. Her removal and funeral Mass took place in The Church of the Immaculate Conception, Drung with burial afterwards in adjoining cemetery.

The death occurred on Sunday last of Patsy McAdam formerly of Aghnadargan Drung at the residence of his daughter Janette and son in law Joe Carney, Drumglen Close, Swellan , Cavan. A former employee of Cavan County Council Patsy was a well respected member of the community. Predeceased by his wife Rose, he is survived by his sons Padraig and Brian, daughters Janette, Fionnula, Roisin and Siobhan, Grandchildren, sisters Anna [Galway] and Maura [Clare] sisters in law, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends to whom sympathy is extended. His funeral Mass took place on Tuesday last in The Church of The Immaculate Conception, Drung with burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.

Dublin City Marathon
Noel Fitzpatrick, Sean Reilly , Kevin Reilly and Ciaran Fitzpatrick who completed the Dublin City Marathon raised 3250 euros for Cavan/ Monaghan Downs Syndrome Association which will be used to help fund a Relief Teacher in the Cavan/ Monaghan area. They would like to thank all who supported them.

Drung GFC are holding a registration night in Bunnoe Community Centre on this Friday night February with juvenile registration from 8 to 9pm and senior from 9 to 10pm. All juveniles must be accompanied by a parent/ guardian. There is an opportunity for anyone wishing to pay membership or join annual blotto at this gathering. Mr Pat Fitzsimons
There was great sadness on Friday last when news broke of the death of Pat Fitzsimons, Corglass, Tullyvin. Pat was a very popular member of the community and will be greatly missed by all who knew him. In his younger days Pat was a noted actor and took part in numerous plays and pantomimes where he excelled in various roles. Pat is survived by his sister Rose Sexton, Laragh, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends to whom sympathy is extended. His removal and funeral Mass to place to the Church of the Immaculate Conception, Drung with burial in adjoining cemetery .

Mrs Peggy Curran
There was widespread regret at the news of the death of Mrs Peggy Curran, Drumouna, Drung which occurred on Wednesday last peacefully at her residence. Peggy was a native of Ardeda, Laragh and she retained a great love of her native parish, Laragh. A great friend and neighbour Peggy will be greatly missed by all who knew her. She had a great interest in all the activities of the local area but Peggy will particularly remembered for her dedication to the Church of the Immaculate Conception, Drung where she worked diligently as sacristan for many years. It was a fitting tribute that she was presented with a Benemerenti medal last October in recognition of this great work. Predeceased by her husband Matt, she is survived by her sons JohnJoe, Pauric, Fintan, Matthew, Micheal and Shane, her daughters Attracta ,Grainne, Mary, Sinead and Orla, her sisters Susan and Maura, sons in law, daughters in law, grandchildren and great grandchildren, brothers in law, sisters in law, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends to whom sympathy is extended. Her removal and funeral Mass took place in The Church of the Immaculate Conception, Drung with burial afterwards in adjoining cemetery.
Mr Patsy McAdam
The death occurred on Sunday last of Patsy McAdam formerly of Aghnadargan Drung at the residence of his daughter Janette and son in law Joe Carney, Drumglen Close, Swellan , Cavan. A former employee of Cavan County Council Patsy was a well respected member of the community. Predeceased by his wife Rose, he is survived by his sons Padraig and Brian, daughters Janette, Fionnula, Roisin and Siobhan, Grandchildren, sisters Anna [Galway] and Maura [Clare] sisters in law, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends to whom sympathy is extended. His funeral Mass took place on Tuesday last in The Church of The Immaculate Conception, Drung with burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.

Dublin City Marathon
Noel Fitzpatrick, Sean Reilly , Kevin Reilly and Ciaran Fitzpatrick who completed the Dublin City Marathon raised 3250 euros for Cavan/ Monaghan Downs Syndrome Association which will be used to help fund a Relief Teacher in the Cavan/ Monaghan area. They would like to thank all who supported them.

Drung reserve team play their league final against Bailieboro in Kingspan Breffni Park 3g pitch on Saturday next at 7pm. The Annual General Meeting will take place in Bunnoe Community Centre on Friday January 17th at 8pm.

Envelopes for 2014 are ready for collection in both churches. People are requested to bring their dues, renewals and offertory envelopes for 2013 up to date this week so they can be lodged and recorded for 2013.
Sympathy
