Mrs Caroline McIntyre There was great sadness throughout the parish and wider community at the news of the untimely death of Caroline McIntyre , Campstown Cootehill which occurred on Friday last. Caroline was a very active member of the community and served on the committee of St Finbarrs GFC for a number of years. A keen follower of St Finbarrs ladies and boys teams over the years Caroline will be greatly missed by all who knew her. The very large attendance at her funeral and various guards of honour were a testimoney to the great regard in which she was held. Sympathy is extended to her husband Gerry, sons Aaron and Ben, daughter Kate, brothers, sisters, brothers in law, sisters in law,nephews nieces, relatives and friends. Her funeral mass and burial took place at St Brigids Church, Kill on Sunday last.

Hurling Summer Cul Camp Cavan Co Board are hosting a Breffni camp on August 17, 18 and 19 for boys aged 10-13 years old. Players will receive a great programme of coaching which is aimed to develop skills. The programme includes Wall ball sessions, Free taking, Goalkeeping etc .Players should bring football boots, runners, socks, training top, bottle of water, packed lunch, helmet and hurley. If player has no helmet or hurley one will be provided. Cost is 15 euro per player. Each player will be rewarded with a t shirt and a hurling grip which will be presented by a top inter county hurler.

Mr Sean Reilly Sean Reilly formerly from Brockley passed away at his home in Clondalkin, Dublin on Friday last after a long illness. Predeceased by his wife Mary, Sean is survived by his sons David and Michael, daughter Suzanne and grandchildren to whom sympathy is extended. Sympathy is also extended to his brothers Benny, Drung; Peter, Brockley; Michael, Redhills and his sister Bridget, Treehoo; and all his relatives and friends. His funeral took place in Dublin on Monday.
Charity Cycle Well done to DB cycle club on successful charity 100k and 50 k cycle which took place on Saturday last. 200 cyclist took place in this event. Thanks to all who took part , all marshalls, registrars, helpers and especially Eamonn and PJ Denning of The Stray sod and their staff who provided a lovely meal for everyone afterwards. Mrs Deirdre Ludgate There was great sadness at the news of the untimely death of Mrs Deirdre Ludgate,Kilgubban, Ballyclough, Cork and formerly Cornakill, Tullyco whiich occurred on Thursday week last. Formerly Deirdre Monahan, she aged only 45 and passed away after a long illness bravely borne. Deirdre is survived by her husband Andrew, children Aaron,Shauna and David, brothers Brian and Chris, sisters Dympna, Fionnula and Mairead, sisters in law, brothers in law nieces,nephews, relatives and friends to whom sympathy is extended. Her funeral took place in Cork on Saturday.

Mrs Teresa O Reilly The death occurred on Wednesday last of Teresa O Reilly, Drumskelt following a long illness bravely borne. A popular lady Teresa was in her 84th year and was very well respected by all who knew her. Predeceased by her husband John almost thirty years ago, Teresa worked hard to rear her family on the family farm. She was a keen supporter of Drung GFC over the years and had a great interest in all activities in the community over the years. Teresa is survived by her son Noel, daughters Caroline and Ursula, grandchildren, sister Patsy, sons in law, daughter in law. sisters in law, brother in law, nephews and nieces, relatives and friends to whom sympathy is extended, Her removal and funeral Mass to place in St Marys Church, Bunnoe with burial afterwards in adjoining cemetery.
Lisboduff Parents Association Would like to thank everyone who attended recent clolour run/walk and fun day fundraiser on Saturday week last. Drung GFC Development News The Development committee are pleased to announce that planning permission has been granted for the new clubrooms. Following on from the very successful fundraiser we hope to commence project in early 2017. A public information night will be held in early Autumn. Mr Benny Reilly There was a great sadness over the area with the news of the death of Benny Reilly, Cornabaste, Drung which occurred on Wednesday last at Cavan General Hospital. Popularily known as Wee Benny he worked for many years in the construction industry. Aged 87 years Benny had a keen interest in all sports particularly fishing , hunting and football. It was his great love of GAA where Benny was best known and he took great interest in the affairs of St Finbarrs underage football and Drung GFC actvities. He was involved in the formation of the Kill/Drung underage setup in the late seventies and served as a selector and committee member for many years. He was an active member of Drung senior football committee for many years as well and was a current Honorary President of the club. Drung GFC held a fitting guard of honour as his funeral cortege arrived at the Church. Outside of sport Benny was a keen gardener and his plots of vegetables and arrays of flowers were there for all to see. Benny is survived by his sister Elizabeth Smith, Edragole, brother in law Mick, sister in law Minnie, nephews, nieces, grand nephews, grand nieces, relatives and friends to whom sympathy is extended. Benny's funeral Mass took place in the Church of the Immaculate Conception, Drung with burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.

Summer Dance Camp The Rafter School of Dance is holding a Summer Dance Camp in Bunnoe Community Centre, Monday August 8 to Friday August 12 from 10-30am to12-30pm. There was widespread sadness over the wider community with the news of the death of Claire O Reilly, Drumcondra Lisboduff which occurred on Wednesday last after a long illness bravely borne. In her sixty first year Claire was a native of Newtownbutler and married John O Reilly in 1978 and they set up home in Drumcondra where they raised a family of four sons. Claire took great interest in the sporting exploits of her sons and was a great Drung and Cavan supporter. She also was a keen bingo player and had a great interest in gardening and nature. She was a regular helper in Bunnoe Commnity Centre where her happy presence will be greatly missed. Mr Pat Lee. There was great sadness in the local community at the news of the death of Pat Lee, Latt Cavan. Pat was very well known and respected in our community where his skills behind the video camera has captured may great events in our community over the years and his friendly personality was loved by all who knew him. Pat was an ardent card player and was a regular playing member at our progressive 25 in Bunnoe Community Centre over the winter months. Bunnoe Crackers Variety Show. The organising committee would like to extend thanks to everyone who supported our show last weekend. Thanks to the cast and backroom team for the many weeks of hard work to bring this enjoyable production to fruition. Our many volounteers who worked in various positions over the weekend are greatly appreciated and their contributions ensured the smooth running of the show.
Coffee Morning. In aid of Epilepsy Ireland will be held at the home of Sinead Brady, Loughlinnan, Tullyvin on Sunday March 13 from 10am to 6pm. Raffle on day and house is signposted from Tullyvin village.
Lisboduff NS 1916 commemoration. All members of the wider community are invited to Lisboduff NS on Tuesday March 15 as they commemorate the 1916 rising. Events will begin at 11-30 am and finish in the afternoon with the raising of our National Flag. The pupils will be dressed in period costume and all guests are invited to dress up too.

St Marys NS Drung. Proclamation Day On Tuesday March 15 Drung NS will commemorate the 1916 rising with Irish Song, dance, and music performed by the pupils along with a recount of the events of the Easter Rising.Events will begin at 12 noon and finish at 2pm. Everyone is welcome and all support greatly appreciated.
Major GAA award. Congratulations to Bernie O Reilly , Boston and formerly Bunnoe on being selected to receive the Presidents award for International Achievment at a televised ceremony at Croke Park on Friday March 11. Bernie who is a former Drung footballer is receiving the award in recognition for his almost 60 year contribution to GAA games in the Boston area. The presidents awards are organised and presented on an annual basis to honour those who go beyond the call of duty in their commitment and dedication to their chosen field within the wider GAA family. Bernie will accept his award at a special banquet which will be filmed by TG 4. The fact that the GAA president Aogan Farrell is from neighbouring club Drumgoon adds greatly to this occasion.
